May I say that,firstly, being friends with quite a few bar owners, drag queens and not forgetting all the bar staff and waiters who all, in my opinion do a fantastic job, keeping all the tourists very very happy, as after all that's what's it's all about at the end of the day, because without customers then there would be no call for the huge variety of bars and clubs on this wonderful island ( my view ).
There are ample venues in the Yumbo to cater for all tastes and every bar or club welcomes both new and familiar guests with a passion that is,in my opinion, totally unique from almost anywhere else I've been.
Speaking as a gay male,I can say with hand on heart that it is down to all the hard working people who do what they do every night, and day, to make the Yumbo, and indeed Gran Canaria what it is today.
As for all this bitching, it's life, one or two bad apples will eventually rot the whole box, but if you get rid of the bad apples, then the rest of the box will ripen and become good. ( Pheww, heavy !! )
Anyway, I wish all of you working your fucking socks ( or tights ) off, all the luck in the world, as I know what you all go through to make people smile and ( God forbid ) laugh, every night, so to all of you.....I raise my glass of Bacardi & Coke ( guess some of you might know me ) and I propose a toast.... " KEEP DOING WHAT YOU DO "
As a personal thing, may I wish SPARKLES SHOW BAR all the best and I will see you all soon, Love you lots Andi, Steve, Tony, James, Nick and all the rest of the crew.
To RICKY'S CABARET BAR, Gail, Penny and all the Drag Queens and staff, I think You're doing a great job, you hold a special place in my heart.
To the QE2 Show bar & Crystal Lounge, Neil, Dave and all your lovely gang of mad people!! the world is a better place with you in it.
To all the others working your arses off, remember, your hard work doesn't go unnoticed, and may I say a very big THANK YOU from behalf of myself, PIPI BIZZARE, my partner GLORIA STITZ and everyone else who has had the pleasure of being entertained by you all in the Yumbo, both in the past, but more importantly, in the future, as there is, I know a very big future for the Yumbo and all the dedicated people who work, and party there.

If anyone wants to know the real me, If you see Dinah in Sparkles and say "IT'S ME....ALUN", she'll know.....OR, pop into Ricky's, and mention to Gail about the spiritalist meeting in Cardiff, or the Easter Sunday lunch I cooked, only for Penny to fall asleep on the sofa, because she was hung over !!!...or ask Captain Sparkle at the QE2 Showbar about Gulliver !!! ( He'll know ! )
Well I hope I've done a little to blow out the negativity that has been going around, and as far as I'm concerned, wild horses won't keep me away from what, after all is HEAVEN ON EARTH.
